Bringing the Raft In & Out

Someone has to put the swim raft out each spring or summer and bring it in at the end of the season. Save this for a warm day: you'll be swimming back in.

You'll need

  • Raft plugs and the socket wrench (in a plastic bag in the top of the red Craftsman tool chest)

Step by step

5 steps
  1. Find the plugs and hardware

The plugs and the socket wrench (the "ratchet thingy") are in a plastic bag in the top drawer of the red Craftsman tool chest.

  2. Tighten a plug into both holes

Each plug fits right into the socket wrench. Ratchet it in until it's tight. Do this for both holes on the raft.

  3. Launch the raft and row it out

Put the raft in the water and row it out to the buoy. The raft has a rope with a clip on the end.

  4. Clip it to the mooring

At the buoy there's a floating rope with a loop on it. Clip the raft's carabiner onto that loop.

  5. Swim back in

That's it. Swim back to the dock.

Tips

  • If you borrow the socket wrench for another project, put it back in the bag. It's mainly there for the raft.

Note

The video shows putting the raft out. To bring it in at the end of the season, unclip it from the buoy, bring it to shore, and put the hardware back in its bag.
