Bed Sheets & Towels: Where's & How's

There's now a washer and dryer in the basement, so you don't need to bring sheets or towels. The goal: every family walks into bedrooms with clean sheets, pillows, towels and bath mats ready, and each family does the laundry for the next.

Good to know

  • Each bedroom has 2 sets of sheets, 2 sets of towels, 1 set of pillows and 1 set of bath mats.
  • Each bedroom's sheets and towels are color coded, because some rooms have king beds and some have queens.
  • Details on which colors go where are on the inside of each closet door.

Step by step

4 steps
  1. When you arrive, check the laundry landing

Look on the landing that leads down to the laundry room. If the last family left bagged linens there, wash them during your stay.

  2. Return clean laundry to the right bedroom

Each bedroom's sheets and towels are color coded. The inside of each closet door says which colors go where.

  3. Before you leave, wash as much as you can

Strip your beds and gather your towels. If you're leaving later in the day, try to catch up on as much laundry as possible.

  4. Bag whatever is left

Anything you can't wash, put in a plastic bag and leave it on the landing leading to the laundry room. The next family will take care of it.

Closing for the winter

Put all linens and pillows in plastic bags or plastic bins, or in the closets and drawers, so critters, dust and moisture can't get into them over the winter.
